This is the EASY RECIPE!
Le Poulet Roti @ Bukit Tinggi, Pahang
Strategically located at Kota Damansara, Wok Dish Way specialises in a vast selection of tasty Chinese home cooked food, including the signature dish, Lei Cha (擂茶).
This restaurant, named "Bu Zi Dao"(步滋道) in Chinese, seems to be homophonic with "Bu Zhi Dao" (不知道), meaning "I Don't Know". Such interesting name would definitely keep you remembering it!
Despite of the healthiness it brings, most of the time people tend to have a great dislike towards such a green combination. However, the authentic Lei Cha here is more aromatic with savoury taste which would attract beginners like me!
Lei Cha? No, it's actually the Special Homemade Sauce, made of blended chillies, garlic, soy sauce, and most surprisingly, Thousand Island sauce as well. With the right balance of spicy and sweet taste, it gives a tangy flavour to complement with the following dishes!
Lei Cha Fried Rice (步滋道擂茶炒饭) @ RM9.40 Try out another
version of improvised Lei Cha; This is served with fried rice, with the same
types of condiments. The fried beancurd and groundnuts are slightly salty, but
others are perfect in their original taste!
Well, you may be turned off with the colour of the rice. But to tell you the
truth, it is so green because it is fried with the Lei Cha paste, made of
pounded tea leaves, basil, mint, sesame and peanuts.Despite of the healthiness it brings, most of the time people tend to have a great dislike towards such a green combination. However, the authentic Lei Cha here is more aromatic with savoury taste which would attract beginners like me!

O'Briens Irish Sandwich Café @ Mid Valley
Everytime when I
shop at Mid Valley, I rarely notice there is O'Briens Irish Sandwich Cafe
at the lower ground floor right beside the entrance of Jusco. Perhaps that's
because I dislike walking near the area with people from La Boheme bakery
luring customers with lots of free food sampling.
Officially
launched in December 2011, this outlet has only operated for two months but its
business is considered rather flourishing. In fact, it is crowded during
lunch hours especially on weekends! This Irish sandwich cafe is originated
from Dublin, Ireland.
The concept adapted in O'Briens is to serve the customers with healthy diet made
of fresh premium ingredients. Here you can pick directly from the bar and choose
your favourite sandwich.
Sandwiches and salads are freshly prepared in
front of customers, and I can clearly see what are inside my favourite foodstuff
here. There's no way for me to complain because they really handle the food
hygienically and professionally.
Classic Caesar Salad @ RM16.00
To kickstart
a healthy diet, what's better than having a bowl of greens with sufficient
minerals and vitamins? Sprinkled with generous amount of parmesan cheese, this
bowl of caesar salad is filled with chicken cutlets, chicken crisp, crouton,
olive, mixed leaves and homemade caesar dressing. All the ingredients used here
are so crispy and match perfectly well with the tender chicken.
Chicken Tripledecker @ RM18.80
This sandwich club is one of
house specialities and also the best-sellers in O'Briens. A portion is
sufficient for a big eater, and also suitable for group sharing if you'd love to
try more varieties.
The healthy
bread toasted with white lean chicken meat and brown chicken crisp on the upper
deck. Whereas the lower part is layered with lettuce, cheddar cheese, red onion,
mixed peppers, coleslaw and tomato.
Note:
- Delivery service is available within the vicinity of O'Briens outlets.
- If you stay within 5 to 10 km away from its Subang Empire outlet, then you can experience a perfect lazy lunch with O'Briens.
- Hotline Number: 1300-30-3000 (Delivery from 9am to 9pm daily)
- Delivery Charge: RM4 per trip
Verdict:
1. Light, appetizing yet healthy food is rare,
but I managed to find one here at O'Briens!
2. If
it's a normal sandwich, then it's overpriced but as for their fresh, various
ingredients and hearty sandwiches, I think it's just worth it.
3. Revisit?
Of course. Perhaps I'll opt for delivery next time too.

Ochado @ IOI Boulevard
Ochado; Insist the Best!
Last week, I was
wandering around IOI Boulevard where the famous Library and Overtime become the
most happening place around that area. No, I'm not into beers, but I don't want
to be like everyone who opts for ChaTime or Snowflakes there!
Signature Ochado Tea
The one on the
left is called Ochado Roasted Milk Tea @ RM4.90, while I have the
Green Milk Tea with Red Beans @ RM5.90. Both are as good as
Chatime or Gong Cha, they're different from their competitors in
unique ways. I love them with the minimum level of sugar (No, but not without
sugar).
Japanese Mille Crepe
Another thing bout
Ochado which distinguishes it from other Taiwanese beverage outlet is their
Japanese Mille Crepe! Up to today, it is still limited to 3 flavours only---
Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla (Original). Since this cake is
so famous, I must really try it!
Vanilla Mille Crepe
Here's the
Vanilla Mille Crepe @ RM9.00, if I've not mistaken. Equally made of 20
layers, I love the fresh cream in between each thin layer, and the 'snow' which
tops the delicate cake.
Chocolate Mille Crepe
The flavoured ones are slightly higher in price
as compared to the original, probably around RM10.90. It is satisfying but sadly
to say, nothing can beat the best
Mille Crepe at Nadeje from Malacca yet!
And now Ochado has its newest outlet at
Sri Petaling! Well, now that I can go home every week for their signature
drinks, but I hope they would sell mille crepes here as well! Hope to see you
there!
Pearl Discovery @ Seri Petaling
This cafe is famous for its fresh,
healthy tea. Also, it is having a promotion now, offering set lunches and
dinners for customers ranging from RM 3.90 to RM 12.90! Reasonably-priced, of
course!
Set meal includes: 1 Main Course + 1 Beverage
+ 1 Dessert
Claypot Lao Shu Fen
Judging by its appealing appearance, I quickly
have the first spoonful of noodles with egg. But disappointlingly, it is quite
salty. And the taste is so-so only.
Three Cup Chicken
Rice
From other food reviews by food bloggers, I
learned that this dish is the Pearl Discovery's signature dish. To my
disappointment, it is just a plate of ordinary chicken rice, unlike how others
have described it!
Claypot Yee Mee
It
looks great, but the portion is quite small even for a moderate eater. Served
while it's sizzling hot, the taste is still below par.
Verdict:
1. It's okay to chill at this place, chit-chatting
while enjoying their Special Milk Tea! I personally love a cozy cafe which I can
sit for hours and hours there with my friends.
2. But it's not recommended to dine
in here because the food are quite common and does not worth the value of money
as well. You can easily obtain them in any hawker stalls out there, in a way
better taste and presentation!
